10 THE MADISON COUNTY RECORD, HUNTSVILLE, ARKANSAS THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 1991 OBITUARIES Cranel Davidson Cranel George Davidson, 74, of Harrison died April 2, 1991, at his home. He was born April 18, 1916, at Kingston. Survivors include his widow, Fern Davidson of the home; six sons, Rex Davidson and George Davidson, both of the home, Willie Baughman, Buck Davidson, Sonny Davidson and Danny Davidson, all of Springdale; seven daughters, Silvia Davidson and Barbra Morriman, both of the home, Mary Rogers of Lowell, Wanda Smith of Huntsville, Lorene Sisco, Ida Shepherd and Marie Garrett, all of Springdale; one brother, Dennis Davidson of Colorado; one sister, Jessie Ward of Huntsville; 32 grandchildren; and 40 greatgrandchildren. Graveside services were at 2. p.m.

Friday, April 5, in Plumblee Cemetery near Harrison with the Rev. Goodall officiating. Arrangements were by Kaufman Funeral Home of Harrison. Pallbearers were Jerry Parker, George Davidson, Larry Sisco, Sisco and Chester Shepherd. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Garrett, Randy Smith, Gary Smith and Rick Armor.

Ralph Cotten: Ralph Freelin Cotten, 66, of Farmington died March 30, 1991, at. the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 20, 1924, at Anadarko, the son of Roy Alton and Ollie Mae Wright Cotten. He was retired from Carl Sewell Motor Co.

of Odessa, Texas, and had worked in the oil He was a member of' the United Methodist Church of Prairie Grove and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow, Dorothy L. Johnson Cotten of the home; one daughter, Sue Mobley of the home; three sons, Lawrence Cotten and Bryan Cotten, both of Fayetteville and Rodney Cotten of Denver; four brothers, Roy Cotten of Kermit, Texas, Nelson Cotten of Fayetteville, Harold Cotten of Kingston and Tom Cotten of Kingfisher, three sisters, Freda Payne of Prairie Grove, Jerri Clift of Lexington, and Geneva Dunn of Anadarko; and five grandchildren. She was a retired' school teacher, having taught in Arkansas, Indiana, and Oklahoma school systems. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and Harvesters Sunday school class. She was a graduate of Oklahoma a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Order of the Eastern Star and Parsonette's, Fort Smith District. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Dr.

W.B. Shultz of the home; four foster sons, Waymon L. Shackelford of Cerritos, Jerry Eugene Trickel of Dallas, Harry Oliver West of Alva, and Victor Ray Sanders of Owasso, one sister, Mary Ethel of Arlington; one brother, Frank W. Cannaday of Little Rock; several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Amel Lewis of Fort Smith, Mrs.

Jimmy Woodard of Hot. Springs Village, Mrs. John R. Dillard and Mrs. Edward J.

Mikus. both of Fort Smith: 13 foster grandchildren; and 10 foster great grandchildren. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Goddard United Methodist Church A graveside service was held at 3:30 Tuesday, April 9, at Huntsville Cemetery. Grand nephews were pallbearers.

Arrangements were under the direction of Edwards. -Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Memorials may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church or the Arthritis Founda- Uvalda Cornett Meisner Uvalda Cornett Meisner, 85, of Sarcoxie, died Feb. 23, 1991, at a Joplin, nursing home after a long illness. She was born March 23, 1905, at Dutton, Ark.

She was a longtime resident of Sarcoxie, and a member of -the Bible Baptist Church. She was married to Charles Meisner on March 9, 1957, in Joplin. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1968. Survivors include several cousins.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 23 at Sarcoxie with the Rev. James Carroll officiating: Arrangements were under the direction of Housh Funeral Home of Sarcoxie. Fayetteville with the Rev.

Joe Sherman officiating. Arrangements were by Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove. Pallbearers were Lynn Bartholomew, Marvin Rice, Carol Rainwater, Harol Calloway, and Bob Nikovits. Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville National Cemetery Association, Government Avenue, Fayetteville, -or the United Methodist Church of Prairie Grove. Calvin Junior Mounce Calvin Junior Mounce, 60, of Farmington died April 6, 1991, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born Jan. 7, 1931, at Delaney, the son of Ruben and Jessie Van Brunt Mounce. He was an assitant supervisor of solid waste for the city of Fayetteville and a member of the Unity Baptist Church of Farmington. Survivors include his widow, Sue Mounce of the home; his mother, Jessie Mounce of Springdale; three sons, Randy Mounce of Farmington, Daryl Mounce of Hogeye and Scott Mounce of Fayetteville; one daughter, Patty Mounce of Farmington; three brothers, Robert Mounce of Elm Springs, Jimmy Mounce of Goshen and Gary Mounce of Johnson; three sisters, Jo Mcconnell of Fayetteville, Mary Katherine Lacey of Springdale, and Linda Hattabaugh of Tontitown; and five grandchildren. Services were at 10 a.m.

Tuesday, April 9, at Sisco Chapel of Springdale with Pastor Coyle Kelly officiating. Burial was in Wedington Cemetery. Pallbearers were Troy B. Rhine, Doug Edwards, Keith Shreve, Jerry Shannon, Doug Burmley, and Keith Winsett. Meadowview -Notes A Meadowview Lodge resident celebrating a March birthday, not included in those listed last month, was Raymond Davenport.

Ethel Brandenburg was selected March's resident. of the month. Ethel has one daughter, Mildred Anderson of Witter. Residents having birthdays in April are Kay Presley, Lillie Pharris, Carol Bilheimer and Leola Edens. Carol will be the oldest of these at 87 on April 23.

Area flower shops provided beautiful flower arrangements for the residents over the Easter holiday. Helen Moon of Huntsville knitted many multi-colored lap robes for the residents. She plans to finish one for every bed in the new building. Mr. and Mrs.

Kendall Bohlin of Clifty made two. quilts recently. The Colbaugh Singers of the Colbaugh area have been providing religious music the first Thursday of each month. Residents and staff were saddened by the loss of Bert Tankersley and Martha Thompson, both longtime residents. They send their sympathy to the families.

Admissions -since the last report have been Lucy Baker, William Vanderpool, Lou Evelyn Horton, Raymond Davenport, and Frank Clifford. Claude Seals and Vernon Turner both spent a few days at Meadowview, then returned home. Mrs. Morris (Sarah) Evans, a former employee, had a healthy baby girl named Ashley Rose. Congratulations to Morris, Sarah and Christopher.

Moving day into the new Meadowview facility is getting closer. Several fund raising activities are in the planning. Norma Hatcher, dietary, was selected March's Employee of the Month. She received free meal certificates provided by the Town Branch Restaurant and That Little Pizza Place. Everyone enjoys Norma's good cooking, reports the residents and staff.

VOLUNTEERS THE WAVE OF THE '909 We enjoyed a good singing Saturday night. Our music men, Loyd (Putts) Keck and OttoBryant were enjoyed. Specials enjoyed were provided by Otto, Mrs. Wilda Keck, Milburn andAlice Martin, Oleta Johnson, who did a trio, and Oleta and I did a couple. Otto joined us on one.

Our music men did a couple of instrumentals everyone enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Jim. Bennett visited Tuesday in Huntsville with Mr.

and Mrs. Lewis Samuels. Jim visited Saturday in Cove community with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jordan and the Rev.

and Mrs. Delmer Reynolds. He visited Monday with Cecil (Red) Franklin and Lester of Pettigrew. Wednesday he visited at New Home with Mrs. Ruby Johnson.

Friday overnight visitors of the Bennetts were Jason and Jeremy Bryant. Mr. and Mrs. Hurshel Johnson had Saturday dinner with Mr. and Mrs.

Clyde Roberts of Huntsville. Thursday supper guests of the Johnsons were Mr. and Mrs. Press Thomas and Mendie. Wednesday dinner guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Otto Bennett were Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Bennett and Kayla, Mrs. Janice Jordan, Scotty and Shane.

An afternoon visitor was Mrs. Joann Bennett. Wednesday night visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Hurshel Johnson.

Friday Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bennett went to New Home to be with her mother, Mrs. Ruby Johnson, who is recuperating from a fractured hip. Others who visited her that day were Mr.

and Mrs. Mark Danials of Culman, Mrs. Mamie Wages of Kingston and Mrs. Linda Dudley of Cave Mr. and Mrs.

Calvin Bennett and Kayla visited Mrs. Ruby Johnson Wednesday. They had Saturday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Thornberry.

Mrs. Bennett, T.J. and Kayla had Tuesday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Allison.

T.J. stayed until Thursday. Saturday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Johnson were Mr.

and Mrs. Dallis. Plumlee of Salina, and Mrs. Verna Parker of Venus. Weekend visitors were Chasity and Brandy Johnson and friend Melissa of Fayetteville.

Mrs. Janice Jordan, Scotty and Shane and Mrs. Jessie Jordan attended a surprise party Saturday night at the home.of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Means of Fayetteville honoring Dewey and Lenette Spurlock on their 25th wedding anniversary and both their birthdays.

Patricia Maggard and Christy visited from Monday until Wednesday in Springdale with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Maggard. Patricia and Allen visited Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs.

Jerry Bryant and Laura. Mr. and Mrs. Bug Eaton visited Wednesday in Springdale hospital with Bernie Samuels and Mrs. Wilma Watkins.

Leslie (Deck) Samuels and Frank Davis of Springdale were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lyndall Van Brunt, Steffanie and Amber. Steffanie and Amber visited from Monday until Wednesday in Prairie Grove with their grandmother, Mrs. Ollie Vickery.

Steffanie visited the rest of the week in Clarksville with her sister, Shannon Williams. Lyndall killed a 21-pound turkey with a beard Sunday morning. A Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Bryant and Laura was.

their daughter, Mrs. Melissa Shepherd of Crosses. Mrs. Tina Bryant of Cave Springs was a Friday overnight and Saturday visitor of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Glen Bennett and Brian. Otto Bennett was a recent visitor of Mrs. Georgia Williams. Mr. and Mrs.

Boyd Lyman visited Tuesday in Huntsville with Mr. and Mrs. Connie Lyman and Phillip and at HMH with Mrs. Pearl Steele. Sunday dinner guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Jerry Johnson, Jeremy and Jennifer were Mr. and Mrs. Jean Johnson of Huntsville and Melvin and me. Jeremy visited with the Jean Johnsons from Friday until Sunday.

Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson and Dale were Mr. and Mrs. David Johnson, Sean and Karen of St.

Paul. Friday night and Saturday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Samuels and Amanda were Mr. and Mrs.

Stacey, Villians of Fayetteville. Other Saturday visitors were Willard Villians of Compton, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Manen, Tiffanie and Keisha of Cave Mt. A Sunday visitor was Brent Edgman of Jasper.

Sunday night visitors were Mrs. Cora Carroll, Norman Samuels and Mr. and Mrs. Bug Eaton. We extend our sympathy to the family of Mrs.

Martha (Mattie) Thompson. Mrs. Joan Johnson and Jennifer were brief visitors of ours Thursday. They brought me a beautiful potted lily for my birthday.
